When my youngest was born, we were so excited to get her home and start adjusting to our new little family of four. All was magical until about day 4. Day 4 was when our sweet little perfect angel decided to scream her lungs out for hours at a time. We took her to the doctor and their response was that she had colic and there was nothing I could do but to wait it out for the next three months. Say whaaaaa??? She literally cried for 3 months straight. She was the sweetest little thing but once four o’clock hit, she was a screaming machine until 9pm when all of sudden, just like clockwork, she would stop and fall right into a deep sleep. I still don’t understand exactly what colic is or what causes it but after it was gone, we got our sweet little angel back!
Sweet little Haley came into the studio last week for her session and she had a cry very similar to my daughters. It just broke my heart to see her so upset and it totally brought me back to that time with my own daughter. Her momma was so incredibly patient with her and it was such a beautiful site to see baby Haley soothe as her mom rocked her and sang gently in her ear. There is definitely a bond there between the two.I think she slept all of 5 minutes during our 4 hour session and she definitely gave me a run for my money! But she is so stinkin’ cute and momma, I promise it will be better soon!
